Hi, my name is Sam Barnard, proud owner of Custom Carpentry Sussex. Our workshop is based in Blackboys, East Sussex where all of our creations are custom built and produced.
I have been a joiner for 13 years now, studying at Eastbourne College and receiving my Level 2, 3 NVQ. I also entered many joinery competitions while at college.
At this time, I worked at Westgate Joinery and learned my craft with my mentor, James Sebastiani. Sadly, he is no longer with us but I owe so much to him.
From there, I left Westgate and went out as a sub-contractor, building houses and doing various carpentry work. I then went to work for Sharps Bedrooms as an installer and fitting their showrooms.
I then moved over to Hammonds furniture where my dad worked as an installer and area manager for 20 years. This then led me to start my own company manufacturing bespoke furniture.
